As you all know I am back in school this week I am extremely tired can't begin to explain how tired I work the night shift leave work at 6am head home catch some sleep if you could call it that and head to school for classes its not easy but I am so happy I can't explain how but I am.

But I am feeling my age not in the I am tired all the time sence more in the I am 32 and all these teenagers are getting on my last nerve I can't remember being so clueless when I was thier ages you see what I mean a sign of old age is when you say things like in my time we used to do so and so.........

I felt old when a lecturer did not show up for a class and I called him to find out what was happening and he said that classses will start next week no one else thought to do that.

I felt old when one of our lecturers said as engineering students we should read other things besides text books pick up an Earl Lovelace book now and then and the blank stares told that these students probably don't know who Earl Lovelace is.

I felt old when I had to ask some guys to keep the noise down when I was catching up on some reading they probably thought look at this old hag trying to get a degree at her age they were talking about some club I mean I don't have to let the world know that I went to some party well i do blog about my partying but I don't go disturbing people maybe I'm jealous.

I felt old when a lecturer gave out only 6 copies of some notes and one girl who got a copy started writing in hers and when I asked her if she planned to make copies for the other students she said she doesn't have the time I tried to explain that she just had to find out the cost and the students will pay her and I just gave up and thanked my lucky stars that I got the notes last year I mean how dense and selfish can someone be.

I know I probably envy their youth and energy and the great start that they are having in life my dad left when I was their ages and a job and survival was my priority not university and I wish i could have done the living on campus full time thing but who knows I may not have had the drive that I have now and may not have taken it so seriously.

But I am having fun learning IS fun when you understand something that you think only a genius could it does something to your ego.

Tony Pierce is having a competition for the cover of his next book so any of you talented people out there could try to win the prize.

Gurl I can totally relate to you with going back to school, and feeling out of place... but you gotta to remember, that as you've been there before, you've got exprience and discipline, that others do not. So don't let that devil lie to you, and tell you, you aint got this... got you got this down cold. Just got to remind yourself that you do... keep it up!
Check ya lata.

I've been there done that. I'm the "grandpa" in my class. Can you imagine a 40 year old in the middle of the teeny boppers. They are clueless and the sad part is they don't even think so. I find that the experience you have in life makes the degree so much more worthwhile and understandable. As a result I am now looked to for advice, methodology and the usual "help mi figure it out please" Stick with it.

call it maturity not age. They'll get a clue hopefully sooner than later. just enjoy the ride and don't sweat the small stuff

Hang in there. You not old, just blessed with the advantage of experience and wisdom.

Plus whats with that girl not photocopying papers for the rest of the class? That has nothing to do with maturity, she just was being plain mean and inconsiderate.

Scratchie said what I was going to say. They cluess and dont realize they clueless.

When i went back to school 12 years after my first degree, I also had quite a few who had just finished their first degree and had no work experience. Well....guess who got a distinction????? 14 of us older ones out of about 150.
